Beginner or birder – join us and join in
The Surbiton and District Birdwatching Society membership offers:
Indoor meetings and social events
Monthly indoor meetings feature a guest speaker giving an illustrated talk.
All year round birding
Around 25 field trips are organised each year. Some are local morning walks, others longer excursions for the whole day. We also visit a number of famous bird reserves, including Minsmere, Dungeness, Pagham, Elmley, Farlington Marshes, Slimbridge, Welney, etc.
Great birdwatching breaks
Locations vary but recent autumn weekends have been in Somerset, Norfolk and Dorset.
A regular Newsletter
Our bi-monthly newsletter keeps members in touch with details of field trips, society events and other local birding news.
Members are invited to submit records from our recording area which covers 144 square kilometres and stretches from Sunbury and Kingston in the north to Cobham and Epsom in the south and includes Bushy and Hampton Court Parks, Molesey Heath, West End, Esher and Epsom Common, and, with the appropriate permit, some of the reservoirs. Members also receive an Annual Bird Report.
