More accurate count than yesterday as I positioned myself to count them in advance and did not chance upon them as yesterday. Circa 500 Jackdaw counted in 10s as they flew from what I believe to be a pre-roost "assembly point" (reached 510 in my counting which gives an indication of the numbers at least). They flew west, as yesterday. Unclear where they roost. Some briefly touched down on another woodland in the park but then set off west again. Set off from "assembly point" 3.35pm (21 minutes before sunset/ 60 minutes from dusk). |
